Bark and Ambrosia Beetles of the Sonoran Region (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae, Platypodinae)

Dr. Tom Atkinson was the UAIC Visiting Arthropod Systematist during the 2015-16 academic year. His primary research interest is in the systematics, comparative ecology, and biogeography of Neotropical bark and ambrosia beetles. Thanks to his curatorial and collecting efforts the UAIC’s holdings of bark and ambrosia beetles nearly doubled. While he worked extensively on the UAIC collection, he also visited and worked on bark beetle holdings at ASU, NAU, NMSU and UNM.
