Zimmerman’s Cynipidae (Gall Wasps) Collection

Dr. James Zimmerman’s Cynipidae (Gall Wasps) Collection includes of over 25,000 specimens of galls, the gall wasps raised from these galls, parasitoids of theses wasps, and inquilines of the galls, all collected from the southwestern US and northwestern Mexico.  Associated data include location, collection date, host species, wasp species, and emergence dates. Extensive series demonstrate regional variations in gall patterns. Several new species from this collection are in the process of being described. This well-organized, documented collection is a valuable and unique resource.
